Families in Action provides frequent occasions for those in the St. Maximilian Kolbe community to assist local organizations such as St Agnes Outreach and Delaware Valley Children’s Charity that help our neighbors in need. It is also an opportunity to be in community with others, of any age, who serve God by serving others.
Projects this year have included:
Providing food, toiletries and cleaning products to support a local food bank
Cooking, and serving hot weekday meals at an Outreach center
Purchasing, gift wrapping and delivering Christmas presents
Reading aloud to and tutoring young children in need of educational support
Donating funds to purchase hams and produce for distribution at Easter
Sharing furniture, housewares and small appliances to share with families acquiring housing
Gathering books, shoes, clothing, backpacks and school supplies as needed
Volunteering to collect, organize and distribute Easter outfits and assemble Easter baskets
Distributing beds and bedding to children that don't have them
Securing tablets for remote learning due to the pandemic
Enabling children to attend camps, participate in sports and receive lessons in the arts by offering scholarships
Supporting vulnerable parents of infants with diapers, clothing, strollers and baby items
Preparing healthy snacks for children to support learning
Participation is voluntary and as needed. All are welcome.
